May holds special significance for Sakal India Foundation, as it marks the beginning of its renowned Interest-Free Loan Scholarship program, now in its 66th year. The initiative supports academic excellence by offering up to 55 scholarships, each worth ₹1,00,000, to students across India. These scholarships are repayable over two years and are designed for Indian students who have secured admission for postgraduate studies abroad or are pursuing PhD-level research in India. The Foundation has actively promoted this opportunity since mid-April by reaching out to colleges and publishing a formal announcement in Sakal newspaper on 8th May 2025.

For the 2025–26 academic year, eligible applicants must present confirmed admission for a postgraduate degree of at least one year at a foreign university or valid PhD registration in a recognized Indian institute. The application process is entirely online via the Foundation’s official website, where applicants must upload key documents like admission letters and academic mark sheets. As of now, 50 students have registered, and 20 have submitted complete applications, with submissions open until the end of June.
